Q1: What is Public Mold?
A: Public mold, also called off-the-shelf mold, is existing injection tooling shared among multiple buyers. The mold already finished development and testing. You can place orders directly with low MOQ and short lead time.
We can customize color, silk print logo, engraving for the plastic parts.
*Important note: The mold is not exclusive to your company, other buyers can also order products from this mold.*
Q2: What is Private Mold?
A: Private mold is custom tooling developed exclusively according to your drawings or samples. Once finished, the mold belongs only to you. No other clients can use this mold to produce the same products.
Private mold requires mold development cost and longer lead time for tool making & testing. We will not display private mold photos or finished products on our website to protect your intellectual property.
Q3: What customization can I get on public mold products?
A: - Pantone color matching for plastic housing
- Logo silk printing / laser engraving
- Surface finish: matte, texture, high gloss
- Packing customization
We cannot change core structure, cavity shape or size of the public mold. If structural modification needed, we recommend private mold.
Q4: What’s the MOQ & lead time difference?
A: ✅ Public Mold: Low MOQ, 7–15 days production lead time (ready mold, no tooling development)
✅ Private Mold: Need to confirm mold cost first, mold making 25–45 days + product production time. MOQ negotiable.
Q5: Which one should I choose, public mold or private mold?
A: - Choose Public Mold: Quick launch, small trial order, lower budget, no requirement for exclusive product appearance.
- Choose Private Mold: Need unique product design, want exclusive ownership, avoid same products sold by competitors.
Q6: Can I buy this public mold and make it exclusive?
A: Yes. You can purchase the whole set of public mold. After full payment, we will stop selling this mold’s products to other customers, and it will turn into your private mold.
