Custom TPE Nebulizer Air Hood | Burr-Free Soft Elastomer Molding
雾化器气罩 · TPE | 无毛边软胶件注塑定制
A nebulizer air hood molded in TPE. The transparent soft-elastomer body takes a rounded mask form with a central circular port on a raised collar and a rolled outer rim. Flash and burrs are the classic failure mode of soft-elastomer parts; this part's edges are clean, with no visible flash. Custom tooling, elastomer selection and one-shot over-molding available.

Manufacturing & Engineering Review
What it is
A nebulizer air hood is a contact and flow-guiding part on the nebulization delivery path: one end connects to the nebulizer cup or outlet, the other meets the user's face or acts as an airflow guide surface. It carries three functions at once — sealing fit, airflow guidance, and direct responsibility for the user's tactile and hygiene experience.
The technical challenge differs completely from rigid plastic parts. The problem with soft elastomers (TPE / silicone) is not whether the part can be made, but whether the edges come out clean:
Flash is the most persistent defect in soft-elastomer molding. Soft materials flow readily and sit at low hardness, so they overflow easily at the parting line and ejector positions, producing wafer-thin flash. Unlike rigid plastics, the result cannot be fixed by secondary machining — tearing or knife-trimming leaves ragged edges, nicks and irregular tears that directly affect appearance, feel and hygiene.
The capability measure for this product is therefore a single one: whether flash can be controlled at the tooling and process level rather than hidden by downstream trimming.
Structural features visible in the product photo
The part is a high-clarity soft-elastomer air hood. Its outline is rounded, an asymmetric pear or mask form with a curved section extending at the lower end. A circular opening sits at the centre, carried on a raised cylindrical collar, forming the connection interface to the nebulizer cup or outlet. The outer edge is a rolled-back flange, forming the sealing lip.
The part is soft and deformable, conforming naturally to the surface beneath it. The surface is glossy with visible reflections and transmits the texture underneath, indicating high clarity.
Manufacturing capability
The part is developed on in-house tooling design and manufacturing. The toolroom runs wire EDM, jig grinding, surface grinding, form grinding, CNC machining centres and EDM — 11 key machines forming a complete precision machining chain, which is precisely what soft-part parting-line accuracy and gate treatment depend on. On the molding side, 20 in-house machines combine all-electric, servo and vertical presses, the vertical format suiting insert and over-molding work.
The company's published product range includes silicone products, silicone rubber products, two-shot over-molded parts and liquid silicone rubber (LSR) products — soft-elastomer molding and over-molding are established process categories.
Integrated finishing
Finishing for soft parts centres on cleanliness and packaging: flash inspection, debris removal, clean packaging and dust protection. Rigid-part processes such as spray coating, silk screen, pad printing and electroplating can also be provided in-house to project requirement, reducing multi-supplier coordination and quality handover risk.
